Program Areas & Activities

Ping Pong ShelterPing Pong Shelter
Centrally located on the conference site, the Ping Pong Shelter has a large fireplace and electricity with restrooms nearby. With the swimming pool, horseshoes, basketball, and ping pong tables only yards away, the Ping Pong Shelter is the perfect spot for a family reunion or church picnic. Tables with benches are available upon request and can be placed under or near the pavilion to accommodate around 60-80 people.

Barto Chapel

Barto Chapel
Barto Chapel is an open-air pavilion that is located next to the Heritage Center. With the ability to accommodate up to 80 people, the Chapel is ideal for many different uses.

 

Tents
Platform and Tent Camping

The Tent/Camping Platforms are available seasonally. Seven (7) camping areas are located in beautifully wooded and secluded areas of the site. Each area includes 2 raised platforms with rain-flies, suitable for tents or just sleeping bags, and a fire pit.
Located at the same site is a campfire for cooking meals, an open area for recreation or additional tents, and a large Outdoor Pavilion with running water. Tables with benches are available upon request and can be placed under the pavilion or near the campfire area to accommodate between 80-100 people.

Sports

Sports Areas
A large Playing Field equipped with a backstop is suitable for baseball, softball, soccer or football. Two Basketball Half-Courts are nearby. Two grass/sand Volleyball Courts, centrally located on the site, are available to all guests. Additional recreational activities include tetherball, horseshoes, fishing, hiking, wading and ping pong.

Canoes

Canoeing
Dwight's mill pond on Sallisaw Creek is the perfect site for novice Canoeing.For those seeking more adventure, a canoe trip down the nearby Illinois River can be planned as a day adventure upon specific request.



PoolThe Pool

 The fenced Swimming Pool is open mid-May through mid-September. A wading pool is available for younger children. During the summer camp session, the camping program has priority use of the pool at scheduled times. Outside of these times, the pool is available for use by guests on a scheduled basis if a certified lifeguard is available.
