Summer 2017 Wrap-up
Our last camp ended almost a month ago and the summer staff have gone home. Camp is all quiet now. Too quiet. No more Mission: Impossible! No more belly flop contests. No one is rocking out to “Revolution” in Barto Chapel. All of these camp activities will have to patiently wait for next summer.
As we head into the off-season we want to take a look back at some of the highlights from this summer. Here are the unofficial (and in no particular order) top moments from Dwight Mission Summer Camp 2017:
Emily Sterling’s fidget spinner dance in the talent show. Or really any act from the week two talent show.
Weekend adventure at Hidden Falls State Park.
9-square in the rain during staff training.
“All right you critters, it’s time to join that Greater Critter Band!”
The largest Family Camp Ever!
The 6:00 AM sunrise service at Senior High Gathering.
The Adventure to Bentonville during the Dwight Institute.
9-square. All day. Every day.
Learning all the ways we can love God.
All of the new friendships that we made.
Thanks again for entrusting your campers to us. We are thankful for each camper that passed through our gate this and every year. They are the real reason we love doing what we do.
This summer we learned how we can love God with our heart, mind, soul, and strength, and how to love our neighbors as yourself. We hope these lessons last and that you remember them always.
“Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.” 1 Timothy 4:12
